Quinton Is Doing It All For His Boy Bobby!

Braintree Town manager Bradley Quinton really should have nothing on his mind bar tonight's massive second vs third National League South match with Truro City.

Unfortunately, that is far from the case.

Iron boss Quinton is currently at the bedside of his seven-year-old son Bobby at Great Ormond Street hospital.

The football-man boy is to undergo surgery to fix a heart condition - so it’s no wonder the small matter of tonight’s match comes a distant second to dad.

It's been a torrid time as the family get to grips with the complexity of Supraventricular Tachycardia, something - thankfully - that was detected last year.

There will be a bucket collection tonight before the Iron’s game with Truro and the manager has confirmed he will soon be competing in a 5k along with all his staff in London.

Quinton says he would be “overwhelmed” by any donations and says GOSH need every penny. Please click here if you can help.

“Great Ormond Street have been absolutely fantastic and I felt we just had to do something to thank them for what they’ve done,” said the manager.

“It’s a difficult time for our family but we know Bobby is in great hands. He’s a very brave little boy and has handled everything superbly.

“He loves his football. His favourite player is Harry Kane but he’s fond of the Braintree boys as well of course! Hopefully they’ll get the result tonight.”

Braintree need to put Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Weston-super-Mare behind them by getting back on track at Cressing Road.

The winner of this one could go top - that’s if leaders Dartford don’t beat Wealdstone at Princes Park.

“It’s certainly eventful at the top of the table!” added Quinton. “But we’re just happy to be up there.”
