Quinton Calls For Iron Fitness Improvement

Brad Quinton wants his Braintree Town players fitter and fresher if they are to challenge for the title.

The Iron were one of four joint leaders of the Vanarama National League South going into last weekend’s fixtures.

But they came unstuck at home to Havant & Waterlooville, going down 3-1 to Lee Bradbury’s team. Watch Match Highlights Here.

Quinton is delighted that his team are up the right end of the table fighting for an instant National League return but believes they will have to be sharper when they host Bognor Regis Town on Saturday.

The manager has called for a return to winning ways after the stumble and says they owe the fans a performance.

“I think that some were clearly not fit enough and you simply can’t get away with that at this level of the game,” Quinton told the NLP.

“It was bitterly disappointing to concede three penalties in the second half.

“Some of the players were just not at the races and it left a better taste in my mouth I have got to say. Now it really is about putting it right.”
