Positivity Is Key For New Boss Brennan Ahead Of First Test

New Billericay Town boss Dean Brennan says he can’t wait for Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Burnham as he looks to instil a positive feel around the Essex club.

But the Irishmen was keen to stress that he wasn’t interested in negativity and sent out a clear message to fans ahead of his first game.

“It’s important that we stay positive,” he said. “It’s exciting times at the football club and we’ve got a very good squad and a good owner who is ambitious.

“I’ve assessed the group and we’re going to work on a positive environment and the players are going to give 110 percent. We will play on the front foot, I promise you that.

Although the end goal for the club is Football League status, Brennan was adamant that his side wouldn't be lookin beyond this weekend’s fixture.

“We’re taking it one game at a time and our next game is against Burnham in the FA Cup which is a very special competition.
“I want to get my teeth into it now and I’m looking forward to Saturday,” he added.

Ricay have made the headlines for the last few weeks over their managerial situation but Brennan’s appointment will surely alleviate some concerns.

“We can’t affect negative reports. I can only look after my players and work with the owner. It’s as simple as that.

“I want the fans to keep believing in us, keep sticking together and to keep the positiveness around the football club.”
