Saturday’s 4-0 defeat to Bromley left the manager angry.
It was the club’s third defeat in a row and their biggest defeat of the season against a side who had lost their last two matches.
Bates told the club’s official website that they must recover from a terrible afternoon very quickly.
“We’ve told the lads in there that we will through it with a fine-tooth comb on Monday to find out where it went wrong and then rectify it,” he said,
“The lads aren’t happy in there, I’m not happy and neither are any of the coaches. We capitulated in the second half and the goals we conceded were shocking.
“But we have be big and brave enough to move on and make sure we put it right.
“I can’t blame the fans for being angry because they deserve better and we understand that.”
It was not the preparation they wanted for their FA Cup First Round visit to League One Gillingham next weekend.
