Pools Striker Amond Completes Newport County Move

Hartlepool United striker Padraig Amond has completed a move to SkyBet League Two side Newport County.

The front man has been in South Wales to discuss terms on his switch to Rodney Parade and the transfer has now been confirmed.

Amond joined Pools from Grimsby Town in the summer of 2016 and went on to score 15 goals in all competitions during his forty-five appearances for the club.

It had been hoped that Pools` boss Craig Harrison could convince the 29-year-old to stay at Victoria Park, despite last season’s relegation, but Amond has now been attracted back to the EFL.

The transfer fee paid for the Irishman’s services has been kept undisclosed at the request of Newport.
