Pools Nab A 40-Goal Forward As Oates Goes To Morecambe

There has been one in and one out at Hartlepool United today as they welcome a 40-goal striker.

Niko Muir has moved to the club from Hendon after the 24-year-old ripped up all in front of him last season.

He was in fine form in front of goal for Isthmian League Hendon and Muir becomes the club’s second new signing of the summer after the arrival of Myles Anderson last month.

But he will be replacing Rhys Oates - and not partnering him in attack.

The 23-year-old has today joined Morecambe following his release at the end of last season.

Manager Matthew Bates says he still has work to do in the transfer market this summer.

Pools struggled for most of last season and will be hoping to play a role at the right end of the National League table next term.
