South Shields are the scourge of Vanarama National League clubs it seems, so the last thing Hartlepool United was to be next on their hitlist.
The Evo-Stik NLP South club mean business it seems and they go into Saturday's 4QR tie looking to make it to the first round for the first time since they reformed.
South Shields want to make it a hat-trick and their joint manager Lee Picton knows home advantage could be key.
Pools have been warned but Craig Harrison won't need telling that this game will be one of the toughest faced so far this season.
"Do we fear anyone in Non-League football? No we don't," Shields boss Picton said ahead of the tie that is sure to be a sell out on Saturday.
"People can take that however they want to take it, but we're oozing confidence at the moment.
"I'm not saying we're going to win every game, far from it, but we're going to go into every game thinking that we've got a really good chance, including on Saturday.
"But Hartlepool have hit some really good form of late so it will be a different game," he added.
