Pools Could Be On The Money With Cassidy Return Says Boss

Richard Money has opened the door for Jake Cassidy to play a part in his Hartlepool United squad.

The striker is currently on loan at fellow National League side Maidstone United until next month.

And new Pools boss Money is a big admirer of Cassidy - admitting that he twice tried to sign him in the past.

"Jake is back here on January 2, he's our player and he's staying," he told the Hartlepool Mail.

"I tried to sign Jake twice when I was at Cambridge. He's been on loan at Maidstone and we've talked about other people.

"But my experience is that you're much better off staying with the one that you know.

"He's an honest, battering ram centre-forward who will work for the team and if we can create a few more opportunities and get people around him, we hope he'll hit the ground running."

Conicidentally, Cassidy's first game back at Victoria Road could be against Maidstone United on January 5.
