Pond Leaves City

Justin Merritt, manager of Vanarama National League South club...

...Oxford City, has announced that last season's captain Darren Pond will leave Marsh Farm.

After initially agreeing terms with Pond in the summer, the club have had to restructure the offer in line with a budget review.

The player has weighed up the offer and feels it`s not feasible for the commitment required for National League South football.

Merritt said: “Darren has been a fantastic ambassador for the Football Club over many years achieving two promotions and many great performances along the way.

“His competitive nature and ability to score vital goals have been seen for many years at Oxford City FC.

“We wish Darren every success in the future and thank him for his services to the club”.
