The Minstermen were looking forward to welcoming the League Two club to Bootham Crescent on July 21.
But the clubs have announced the game now won’t be taking place.
In a statement, York said it was “due to circumstances beyond the control of both clubs”.
It’s a blow to manager Martin Gray who is now expected to have to fill the spare weekend with another match.
City play Barnsley, Bradford City and Leeds United at home this summer as they look to put together a push for promotion.
York find out who they will be playing on the first day of the new season when the fixtures are released on Wednesday July 4.
