Plenty To Please Concord Boss Despite Tough Start

Danny Scopes says he has seen plenty of positives for Concord Rangers despite their less than impressive start to pre-season.

The Beachboys have been on the wrong end of two 4-0 scorelines at the Aspect Arena in their warm-up games so far.

First, Championship Millwall and then National League Dagenham & Redbridge inflicted big losses - but Scopes hasn't seen too much to worry him.

“I am not worried about the fact we haven’t scored yet - we have created plenty of chances in both games," he told the Basildon Standard.

“If we can do that against a Championship and very good National League defence, I’m sure we will get goals and cause teams problems.

“You never want to lose games of football but the results are irrelevant at the moment. I’m more interested in the performances.”

Concord Rangers get their 2019/20 National League South season underway against Oxford City on August 3.
