Plenty Of National League Progress In The FA Trophy

National League clubs whipped up an FA Trophy storm as Darragh swept the country.

Plenty of third round ties survived and there was delight for Altrincham after winning on penalties against old rivals Macclesfield.

Aldershot are into the hat, Maxwell Mullins scored another cup goal as the Shots game manager Tommy Widdrington a lift with a 3-1 win over Wealdstone.

Bim Pepple scored his first hat-trick for Southend United as they avoided making headlines at Brentwood Town. Kevin Maher’s side won 5-3 in an Essex derby.

Maidenhead United were beat in the Battle of Berkshire as Slough Town shone, the winner arrived through defender Lexus Beeden.

National League North Darlington were no match for York City, pictured, when they finally got going - Tyrese Sinclair wrapped up a 3-1 win after they went behind to the Quakers.

Forest Green progress on penalties after beating Braintree, as did Sutton United at home to Ebbsfleet.

Matty Dolan’s late free-kick sent Spennymoor Town through at Alfreton as Zak Brunt made sure Barnet avoided a banana skin against Aveley.

Alex Wall shone for Hampton as Hashtag United were sent packing.

There were upsets too. Oldham Athletic went out at Stockton Town in the surprise result of the round.

FC Halifax Town, the 2023 winners, also go out after Basford kept the composure to seal success from the spot.

Last season’s beaten finalists also crashed out. Solihull Moors losing to Radcliffe, Luca Navarro won it in dramatic style.

Kidderminster go through as AFC Fylde were sent packing on penalties.

Elsewhere it was a great day for Oxford City, Chorley and Boston United.
