The Whites returned to winning ways last weekend against Torquay United and remain eighth, just a point outside the play-off places.
There is still plenty to play for Kinnear’s side with four games left to secure their spot in the top seven.
But that doesn’t mean the boss doesn’t have one eye on next season. The club’s directors visited training last week and Kinnear hopes a large chunk of the Whites squad will be eager to sign up for another year.
“The chairman (Jim Parmenter) just came down to say hello to the lads and say we’re still backing you,” Kinnear told Kent Online.
“We (the management team) knew he was going to come, the players didn’t and they thought ‘Why is he here?’.
“It was just to say ‘look we’re talking about next year and we’re talking to players now about them staying whatever league we’re in’.”
Dover travel to Maidenhead on Saturday before home games against Tranmere Rovers and Gateshead. They end their campaign at Woking.
Kinnear added: “If we can win our home games and get something out of the away games I'm sure we'll be up there.”
