Play-Off Chasing Ebbsfleet Will Be Let Loose Says McMahon

Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon wants his side to start playing with freedom as they chase a play-off spot.

Ebbsfleet are in the midst of their best run at National League level for ten years having won four games in a row.

Fleet are only outside of the top seven on goal difference but McMahon reckons his side can go into their upcoming fixtures with plenty of freedom.

The boss, who saw his side's game against Wrexham on Saturday fall foul of the weather, told Kent Online: “There’s not a lot expected of us. They (Wrexham) are a good side but we are as well on our day.

"I’m sure everybody will say Wrexham have had a good season but we’re five points behind them.

“We certainly took the shackles off against Hartlepool and we intend to do the same again."

McMahon also praised the Fleet support for the backing they've given his side in recent weeks - especially on the road.

“They can see how hard the team’s working, especially those fans who travelled to Hartlepool and Halifax," he added.

"In the last four years we've been in the National League South and before that they were relegated from the National League so for us now to enjoy these games in the run-in is massive and they deserve it."
