Pilgrims Pick Up Veteran Norris To Add Know-How

Boston United hoped to solve their inconsistent start by completing the signing of experienced midfielder David Norris.

Manager Craig Elliott is signing what he knows with the former Ipswich and Portsmouth man playing under him last season at Shaw Lane.

The Pilgrims have lost four of their last five National League North games having won four of their first five.

The latest set-back came at home to Chester, where they lost 2-0 - and the result forced Elliott to act as 37-year-old Norris came on board.

The manager said the slump in form has “hit him hard”.

“The energy levels seem to drain from us as soon as we go a goal down,” he told Lincolnshire Live. "Instead of coming back stronger and with more aggression or confidence to get back into the game, it seems to have the opposite effect on us.

“I am really disappointed that the fans have had to see that again because away from home, we have been really good.”
