....short trip to Portsmouth to meet Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Division One side Baffins Milton Rovers in their opening friendly.
Goals from Sam Lanahan, Jason Parish, Ollie Bailey and Alfie Lis ensured the Vanarama National League South side won 4-1 at the Kendall Stadium in a competitive encounter.
Bradley Fairweather netted a penalty for Louis Bell's Baffins, but Gosport always looked comfortable during their first run out of pre-season.
Alex Pike's attention now turns to this weekend's first home friendly against National League Aldershot Town when he is expected to look at many of his new signings who didn't feature in Portsmouth at the weekend.
Off the pitch however, Pike has continued to attract new players.
The latest to sign is Connor Cocklin (pictured), who spent time at Portsmouth and has recently caught the attention of Bristol Rovers and AFC Bournemouth after a spell with Wessex Leaguers Andover Town.
Also joining is 20-year-old Scott Walters, another player to feature in last season's development squad.
Walters has had spells at Bashley and Dorchester Town and also at Malaga in the Spanish club's feeder team.
