Barrow’s 0-0 draw at Boreham Wood was their third clean sheet in four games and represented a very good day’s work at the promotion chasers.
Pennock heaped praise on his backline for standing up to Wood’s attacking talent as their excellent away form continued.
The bad news is they are back at home on Monday against AFC Fylde - and they haven’t won at Holker Street since October.
The manager said: “It’s a big point. We’re keeping clean sheets against very good attacking teams and that is a huge plus.
“We took the game to them. I didn’t have any fear coming to Boreham Wood - not with our away record. It’s got to be up there with one of the best in the division. We showed we are hard to beat and we’ll keep at it. We are still up for this challenge. Our back four are very young but they were all men today
“The goals will come, I’m not worried about that. We’ve got more than enough talent at that end of the pitch to match what we’re achieving at the back, there’s no question of it.
“I’m sure we’ve got goals in us, even though it’s back-to-back games without scoring I haven’t got concerns about that part of our game.”
But he has worries about their home form. It’s ten games and five long months since they beat Aldershot, their last victory in any competition in front of their supporters.
Pennock added: “We’re in the best place possible to do that now, I honestly believe that. We’re not far away, the fans can see that.
“Against Dover we came very close and the fans, who are always fantastic, gave us a standing ovation after the game.
“We’re getting closer and closer at home and we’re one result away from seeing the whole place given a massive lift.”
