Paxman & Phillips Become The Latest To Pen New Deals

Maidstone United have announced that Jack Paxman and Michael Phillips have both put pen-to-paper for the club.

Paxman (above) will be back to start his fifth season with the Stones, having joined from Bostik League North outfit Witham Town in March 2015.

The fans’ favourite has gone on to make 123 appearances and is second only to Lee Worgan in the current appearance holder chart.

Manager Jay Saunders told the club`s official website: “I’ve got a lot of time and respect for Pax and I am delighted to get him back for another season. He’s improved year-on-year and I still think there’s more to come from him.

“He’s got a season of daytime training under his belt and with a solid pre-season, he will have a big part to play for us.”

There was fierce competition for Phillips’ signature but former Crystal Palace man, who captained the under-23s, has committed his immediate future to the Stones.

He arrived at the Gallagher Stadium in March and made an immediate impact in the final weeks of the season.

Saunders said: “In that short spell at the end of last season I saw so much potential and I know there’s more to come. He’s showed he’s got more than what it takes to make the step up to men’s football.

“There were a lot of clubs in for him, but he’s enjoyed his time here and I am delighted to get his signature”.
