It is with deep sorrow The National League has been informed of the passing of Noel White aged 89 years, who was a Life Member of the League.

Noel was involved in the creation of the Alliance Premier League that moved on to become the Football Conference and now to it's current name of The National League.

He also served as Chairman of Altrincham through what is regarded as the most successful period in their history.

After moving on to become a director and then Chairman at Liverpool, Noel became on of the leading lights in the formation of the Premier League in 1992.

The National League wishes to pays tribute to the service he has not only given to the Competition for 40 years but his contribution to many facets of the modern game, which owes a debt of gratitude to the man.

Our condolences are extended to his family, friends and many colleagues in the world of football.
