A Jordan Hulme goal either side of the break saw Alty claim a priceless win which now means they haven’t lost in the league since the end of September, something that delights their manager.
“We’re delighted to come to Chester and win given that they were unbeaten at home and unbeaten in 11 games before this,” Parkinson told the National League’s Oli Osborn.
“We were really up for it today, as we are every week and they biggest thing was the bravery we played with. We were outstanding in the first half with the football we played.
“We’ve shown real depth of character to get a result here and if we can be as good in possession as we are out of possession, we can be successful.”
The club’s recent good form saw Parkinson with the National League North Manager of the Month award for October.
But despite it being ‘manager’ of the month, he said he didn’t see it as an award that could solely be for himself.
“The Manager of the Month award sits uneasy with me because it’s a team effort. It’s not about me, it’s about the club and the direction we’re turning.
“To receive an award like that at this level is amazing and I’m so pleased for everyone because we’ve worked really hard to get that recognition.”
