Parking Problem For Preston As Dulwich Downed By Palace

Goalkeeper Preston Edwards got it wheel-y wrong last night - when the Dulwich Hamlet Public Address announced his car was about to be towed!

The stopper hardly got out of second gear when a strong side Crystal Palace put five past him on Thursday evening.

But things took a u-turn when a message was read out over the loudspeaker warning a car was about to be taken away and the registration number was read out.

Edwards shouted to fans ‘that’s mine!’ and begun talking to someone pitchside as the game was in progress.

The 1,200 crowd could only watch on as the goalkeeper sent out an SOS.

He eventually called in a favour and got his car somewhere safe - and his mind back on the fundraising match.

Premier League Palace were visiting Imperial Fields to keep their promise and help Hamlet ease their financial issues.

Edwards said: “I was running late and saw no spaces.

“They announced over the PA twice for the owner of the car to move their car, and to be honest I just ignored it.

“Then the third time they said it was about to be towed. No way was that happening!”
