Parkin May Play On As He Confirms York City Departure

Jon Parkin appears to be on the look out for a new club after the veteran confirmed his time at York City is up.

The 37-year-old is out of contract and can be signed on a free transfer.

He has yet to confirm if he will play on next season but dropped a hint on Twitter than he isn’t ready to hang up his boots.

The powerful forward thanked the club after a three year spell where he scored 36 goals.

“Now the dust has settled, I would just like to say a massive thank you to York City for having me in both my spells,” he posted.

“I thoroughly enjoyed them both and will always be looking out for results.

“Hopefully more successful times are just around the corner. Si thi, Parky x."

The former Forest Green and Fleetwood striker found starting places hard to come by this season but could fancy another go next year.
