Oyebanjo Returns to Minstermen

By Steve Whitney

Vanarama National League club York City have confirmed the return....

....of defender Lanre Oyebanjo on a one-year deal and with the option of another twelve months.

The 26-year-old right-back made over a century of appearances for the Minstermen until moving to Crawley Town a couple of years ago.

He then completed thirty-six games for the then League One Red Devils during his debut campaign, but a knee injury restricted him to just seven appearances last term and he was subsequently released.

London-born Oyebanjo played a leading role in both of York's famous Wembley triumphs in May 2012, even scoring in their FA Trophy victory against Newport County.
