Oxford City Take Rivals Defender On Loan

Oxford City manager Mark Jones has moved quickly following the re-call of Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain by parent club Portsmouth by bringing in Oxford-born defender Miles Welch-Hayes on an initial one-month loan from fellow Vanarama National League South

The 20-year-old full-back is an academy graduate of Oxford United for whom he made his first-team debut last season.

He then spent the remainder of the season on loan at Bath, making over twenty appearances.

Following his release by the SkyBet League One outfit at the end of last season, he signed a permanent deal with the Romans but has seen his chances limited this season.

He is expected to go straight into the squad to face Poole Town at Marsh Lane tomorrow.
