Sokolik, 24, joined the Gulls in mid-February and made five appearances.
His season was curtailed after a bout of sickness but that hasn’t stopped head coach Gary Owers from extending his stay at Plainmoor.
“I’m delighted that he has committed,” Owers told the club`s official website. “He’s a player of real quality that we’re fortunate to get. Unfortunately, he went down with a bout of sickness that is all cleared up now.”
Sokolik’s previous clubs include time in Liverpool’s youth system, and stays at Yeovil Town, Southend United, and Plymouth Argyle.
Owers sees his signature as a real coup for Torquay: “He should be playing in the League somewhere. He’s got real quality and he has enjoyed his time here which is why he has committed again. For the level, to have a player of that quality and that experience it’s going to be massive for us”.
