Ormerod On Board As Fylde Tie Down Their Top Talent

One of the National League’s top young talents is staying put - and that’s big news for AFC Fylde.

Danny Ormerod has signed a new contract at Mill Farm keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026.

Coasters head coach Chris Beech says there’s not many teenagers better out of the EFL and reckons the 18-year-old has a huge future.

So he will be thrilled then that the striker will continue his progress at Fylde having scored six times after breaking into the team in the second half of last season.

Ormerod is delighted to commit to the cause and says boss Beech was a key part in his decision to sign a new deal.

The highly-rated attacker told the club’s website: “I’m buzzing to be signing until 2026 and I can’t wait to get going.

“The head coach has helped me settle in a lot, he really wanted to keep me here for the next two-years of my contract, so I’m over the moon to be signing again for AFC Fylde.

“I had a few great memories last season but my favourite was definitely Rochdale on New Year’s Day, scoring the two goals on my first professional start is a day I’ll never forget.

“Hopefully next season, we can push on again and I can score a lot of goals.”
