Orient Turn To Turley As They Ease Centre-Back Crisis

Jamie Turley has eased Leyton Orient’s defensive issues by joining their promotion push.

The central defender has joined the National League leaders in a deal until the end of the season.

Turley left League Two Notts County on Tuesday - but he’s been quick to find a new home.

It’s good news for the club with centre-backs Marvin Ekpiteta and Josh Coulson set to be out for the rest of the month.

Turley told the club’s website: "I'm really happy to be here, the club's in a great position and it's something I couldn't really turn down. I'm looking forward to getting going.

Manager Justin Edinburgh said: “He’s someone I know really well. I [as a manager] have come up against him for a few clubs and have always been impressed. I have tried to sign him on one or two occasions but unfortunately missed out on the race.

“For me, he’s someone who does what it says on the tin, he knows this level and was in the Boreham Wood side that got to the final of the play-offs last year."
