Orient 'Stayed Patient' As They Win Well At Woking

Leyton Orient’s manager Steve Davis put the club’s third win of the season down to patience paying off as they beat Woking 2-0 this afternoon.

After a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Bromley on Tuesday evening, it was obvious that Orient had a point to prove.

After letting in half a dozen, they hardly gave The Cards a sniff and thanks to Macauley Bonne’s second half double the O’s got their first away victory.

Davis knows though that his team are still coming together with a whole new squad put in place during the close season.

“I think we have seen so far that we’re a work-in-progress, we are not the finished article yet and I think I’ll be saying that for most of the season actually,” said the Orient manager

“The club has come through a lot but I have been pleased with the three wins we have managed and this was a good result against a team that had won both their home matches so far.

“Against Woking we knew there was a point to prove after what happened at Bromley on Tuesday. We kept patient and when they came we took our chances.

“We restricted Woking and they had one shot on target, and that was in the last minute. We had to dig in.”

He added: “There wasn’t much in the first half but in the second we managed to improve our football and eventually the chances came our way.

“That’s our third win so far and overall I think we are starting to adapt. I’m happy.”
