Chorley have announced the signing of midfielder Luke Burgess on loan for the rest of the season from SkyBet League One side Wigan Athletic.

The 19-year-old joins Matt Jansen`s squad after coming through the ranks at Everton.

He joined Wigan at the age of 14, and progressed through the ranks of their academy, signing professional terms for the first time earlier this season.

Nineteen-year-old Burgess will add increased strength to the side during the final few weeks of the campaign.

Meanwhile, former Carlisle United, Barrow AFC, Penrith and Queen of the South striker Steven Rigg (pictured) has joined Evo-Stik League Premier side Workington AFC for their next two games in an effort to build up his match fitness.
