....signed former Atletico Madrid player Elliot Kebbie from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division promotion-chasers Salford City.
The 21-year-old, who can operate as either on the right wing or as a right-back, signed forms after watching his new team-mates draw 1-1 with Nantwich Town in the FA Trophy.
The pacey wide man came through the ranks at Leeds United before a two-and-a-half month trial at Barcelona.
He then joined Atletico Madrid where he was only held back by a serious illness. Now fighting fit however, he joined Salford in the summer and has impressed at Moor Lane, leading to his move to Avenue.
Avenue manager Martin Drury was delighted with the signing: "Elliot's come in, obviously having left Salford, and we're very happy about it," he said. "He actually trained with us a little bit last season, but we weren’t actively looking to bring someone in at the time.
"He’s gone away and signed Salford, worked incredibly hard and done extremely well for them. He played excellently against us in the two games in the FA Cup.
"He’s just a very, very quick, athletic player who can play either right wing or right-back.
"It just gives us a little bit more pace in the side really, a little bit more threat going forward, and he’s a little bit more solid going the other way if we need him.
"Elliot’s a great lad, and we’re really glad we could bring him in."
Kebbie comes in following the news that Tom Burgin’s contract has been cancelled by mutual consent.
Burgin joined at the start of the 2015/16 season, but has struggled to nail down a permanent place in the starting eleven, with three other players vying for the two centre-back spots.
Burgin has joined Mark Hume's Matlock Town.
