The Vanarama National League North Quakers have allowed Celtic to borrow their forward for a month.
But it works both ways - manager Martin Gray hopes his player returns for of confidence.
Cartman was happy to play in the Evo-Stik League and could make his debut this afternoon.
The 27-year-old said: "'I am not coming to Farsley Celtic just to get game time for the month.
"I'm here to give my all to help the club get off to a great start to the new season and hopefully scoring a few goals along the way.
"Darlington made me available for loan on Monday to get some game time. I agreed to the suggestion as it would be difficult for me personally to travel two hours there and back to be on the bench or being in the stand watching.
"I'm turning 28 in November so I need to be playing regularly and most of all enjoying my football."
