Nyoni is the thirteenth overall addition into the Impact Arena this summer to date.
Nyoni re-joins the Reds for a third spell after featuring in the 2015/16 season, making thirteen appearances and thirty appearances in the 2016/17 season.
He came through the Sheffield Wednesday academy and has had spells at Boston United in 2011, Frickley Athletic in 2012 before making a brief move to Nottingham Forest in 2012/13 season where he made just one appearance for the under-21s.
A move to Worksop Town followed in the same season, making nine appearances. He also had spells at Harrogate Town and two spells previously at the Reds.
Boss John McDermott was pleased to have regained Cecil for the upcoming season: “I’m pleased to have Cecil back at the club, it`s his third spell with us and I know him very well; I had him at Harrogate and he did a very good job.
“We wanted someone different to what we already have in the squad, I had a great chat with him and what is expected of him and I get on well with Ces. He’s a great character and one which I will manage well, he’s a very good player and is good at what he does.
“He can hold the ball well and sits in midfield, he’s very composed. The squad will flourish and I’m excited to have him in the upcoming season, I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Nyoni was also delighted to be back at the Reds: “It’s great to be back at Alfreton, it’s good to be back under John McDermott; he knows how to get the best of me. He’s made some really good signings - the players he’s brought in we look a totally different team and a much stronger team from last year.
“There’s a winning mentality there, positivity, there’s a good experience in the squad. I’m looking forward to this season, we are hungry for success and I can’t wait to play with the boys”.
