Nuneaton Trio To Take Part In 2018 V9 Academy

For the majority of Vanarama National League North club Nuneaton Town`s squad the season has ended and there's a little time to relax before returning to training in preparation for next season.

However, three of the players that were part of Nuneaton's resurgence in 2018 will have less of a break though.

Daniel Nti, George Green (pictured) and Luther Wildin will take part in the 2018 edition of the V9 Academy.

The V9 Academy will hold its next intake of players at the City Football Academy, the training complex of Manchester City on the Etihad Campus.

The Boro' trio, alongside thirty-nine other successful applicants, will be split into three teams of fourteen players for a five-day residential programme, from June 3rd to 8th.

A host of professional clubs will be represented at the V9 Academy, ranging from top domestic British clubs and clubs from further afield, all in search of the next Jamie Vardy.

The England international and Leicester City striker helped create the academy with the aim of discovering non-League talent and promoting them to the professional game while providing them with a unique educational experience into what it takes to play at the top level.

Previous players that have attended the V9 Academy before moving on to Football League clubs include Danny Newton, who signed for Stevenage and has scored 16 times for the League Two club, and Nuneaton`s Alex Penny, who moved to Peterborough United on the eve of last season.

After signing for the Posh, Penny broke in to the first-team before his season was ended by injury.
