Because of the intensity at the top, teams are taking plenty of points off each other.
Graeme Lee is partly to blame and has been doing that himself since arriving at Spennymoor Town in January. He took a while to get going but after that first win arrived, nobody at the North East club has looked back.
Town now seems to have found a formula that works and it is certainly producing results. They started last month hovering over the drop-zone just three points from safety but now they’ve dragged themselves well clear.
So good were they that the Moors ended the month almost as close to the play-off positions as they were to the bottom four!
Beating Southport, Blyth Spartans, Warrington and Bishop’s Stortford, they also claimed a credible draw at Chester.
Spennymoor also managed to do something not many others did - keeping Peterborough Sports’ Dan Jarvis quiet!
The Player of the Month returned after a nasty shoulder injury and showed his club’s fans what they were missing, making himself a vital part of the Sports team who are in great form at just the right time.
The wide man ended the month with four goals in three games – also notching two assists as well.
He scored two against promotion hopefuls Curzon Ashton and also left Rushall Olympic and Banbury United rattled. He then set one up in games against Chester and Brackley. He and his team-mates were also to a man outstanding as they sent in-form Kidderminster Harriers packing in the FA Trophy.
Well done to our two brilliant winners!
