The Magpies - who set a new milestone last season when 12,843 saw their game against Solihull Moors - overtook the previous best by more than 3,500.
A total of 16,511 - including 452 Yeovil Town fans who had made the near 400-mile round trip - saw the goalless draw at Meadow Lane on Saturday.
Despite the positives off the pitch for Notts, the draw against the Glovers saw them drop off the summit of the Vanarama National League.
Notts boss Luke Williams wishes the bumper crowd could have seen his side at their free-flowing best.
He said: "I would love them to have seen us score two or three goals and to play in the same way we play so they could have enjoyed it more.
"Everyone wants to see goals, and we want to see goals. Hopefully we make a really good performance and [the fans] can see we are aggressive and we play on the front foot all the time.
"It's incredible. We're trying to push all the time to be the best we can be and everything we do is borne out of respect for the fans.
"It's a real club. It has a feel like you're part of something and you join something.
"Today, to have this number of people in the ground is special."
