Notts Landing Back In The EFL After Epic Final

Notts County return to the EFL after a spectacular Promotion Final at Wembley.

The Magpies’ four year wait is over after the penalty win which broke Chesterfield’s hearts.

It looked all over until John Bostock squeezed his free-kick in three minutes from the end of the game.

The Spireites bit back in extra time and Armando Dobra put them 2-1 up with a stunning goal but Notts weren’t done.

A bobbler from a Ruben Rodrigues took it to penalties - and Luke Williams’ team held their nerve.

Cedwyn Scott hit the winning penalty and send the club’s fans into dreamland and back to the EFL.

Williams said: “I’m just so proud and this is for the fans - and of course for Jason Turner.

“He kept us going, it was his spirit that make this possible. It’s a wonderful day.”
