The Bluebirds are tying up loose ends to bring their former striker back to Holker Street.
Holt has been getting game time at King’s Lynn Town announced his exit last weekend.
But Barrow have yet to officially confirm Holt’s return but manager Ady Pennock doesn’t want fans reading anything into the delay.
Pennock wants the veteran forward to make up part of his backroom team at the Vanarama National League club as we as have a playing role.
“We're looking at hopefully getting it over the line for Saturday, and we hope for him to be involved on Saturday, which would be fantastic,” said the new manager.
“I'm almost 100 per cent sure he will be there, but I'm hopeful he will be here with me and the boys for training on Friday as well before the game on Saturday.”
Pennock got off to the perfect start as the club’s new manager, defeating Aldershot 3-1 the weekend before last.
He says Macclesfield present a different type of challenge but called on his players to show more of the spirit which helped them down the Shots.
