All that matters to the Ebbsfleet United manager is that his side did what they had to do and are in the National League play-offs.
The Fleet drew 1-1 at Torquay United and will now face Aldershot Town on Wednesday night, kicking off the Vanarama Eliminators.
It looked a tall order last month with the manager unsure if his team had the capabilities to make the top seven.
But a fantastic late season surge has seen them grab their place and they head to the EBB on Wednesday full of confidence.
“It wasn’t the best of games and it wasn’t one of our vintage performances,” he told BBC Radio Kent at Plainmoor.
“But we got the job done. It’s been a tough week for us. Tuesday we were up at Gateshead and then down here today.
That’s a lot of travelling this week and we’ve had eight games in April and only lost one of them.
“There was a lot of maybe rash decision-making, maybe with the pressure of the game,” he added. “I don’t think physically, I think mentally really. So now it’s important we recover for Wednesday, get our heads down and relax. But I don’t really care now how we played, I’m just glad we got here.”
“The boys have been terrific for me and we look forward to Aldershot now on Wednesday night.”
