The Gulls struggled to get back into the game after going behind inside the first ten minutes.
Despite conceding ground on second-placed Woking, boss Gary Johnson isn't in the mood to begin stressing.
"We didn’t start well," he told the club's video service. "Right from the first ball, the first ten passes didn’t get anywhere and all of a sudden, you can’t pick it up.
"They’ve (the players) have got to get their mental toughness quickly because we didn’t show any quality in the first-half at all.
"Nobody’s died, I’ve lost for the first time at home in the league and we’re obviously all disappointed, the lads are as disappointed as everyone.
"But I’ve got to try and pick them up, in two days, because we’ve got a cup final on Tuesday (against Chelmsford)."
With 72 goals, Torquay are by far the league's top-scorers.
And Johnson couldn't figure his side's lack of composure infront of goal on Saturday afternoon.
He said: "I thought we did enough in the second-half but we didn’t finish off some of the chances that we had.
"We're still in the race but Tuesday now becomes a very important game."
