No Hiding Place On A Big North And South Night Of Action!

By Sam Elliott

There’s plenty going on tonight across the Vanarama National League North and South with next to no room for error as the matches tick down.

Are there title twists to come? Well, we need to see some dropped points later on if it is to delay what has appeared to be the inevitable for quite some time.

National League North leaders Tamworth are showing no signs of wobbling - and if their 12 point advantage remains in tact, then even their most hard to convince fans will start believing.

They travel to a Gloucester City side still licking their wounds after a seven goal mauling at home to Boston United. Scunthorpe United go to in-form Spennymoor Town while Chorley are also in the North East and face South Shields.

At the wrong end, King’s Lynn Town know they can take a big survival step by winning at Bishop’s Stortford.

Darlington have to get back on track after their great run ended and head to Blyth Spartans on a busy night in that part of the country.

Banbury United can’t afford many more off days and they have to stop Boston United, days after their blitz of Gloucester.

There’s huge play-off points on offer as Hereford and Alfreton Town cross swords while Curzon Ashton can jump back in if they get the better of Scarborough.

Southport enjoyed another encouraging win at Banbury United on Saturday, pictured. Tonight they’re at Chester.

National League South leaders Yeovil Town haven’t had many off days this term but manager Mark Cooper wants them to shake off a bad one.

After Welling United left the table toppers with three points, the Glovers know there can’t be a repeat at home to Chippenham.

Especially in Chelmsford City go to Maidstone United and win after reducing the lead to nine points.

Worthing have lost three from four and need to make sure their form is back to what it should be as crunch time looms. They are at home to Farnborough while Hampton know they can’t keep relying on late goals - Welling arrive fresh from stunning the leaders.

Dartford are just one point outside the bottom four and Ady Pennock knows the size of the task in hard. He badly needs a result at Braintree.

They will be in the bottom four if they don’t win at Taunton Town do. After stunning Worthing, the Peacocks look to escape the drop zone at Torquay United.

Elsewhere, Eastbourne know nothing less than three points against doomed Dover will do as Truro City chase an important victory against Weymouth, who will sense salvation themselves if they return to Dorset with three points.
