He arrives at the Racecourse Ground following a season in Scotland, having joined the Highlanders a year ago from Newport County, where he had been the Exiles leading scorer in 2015/16.
Boden was born in Sheffield, twenty-seven years ago and started his career with home-town club Sheffield United, signing professional for them in 2007.
A year later he was loaned out to play five matches for IFK Mariehamn, who are based on the Åland islands and still play in the Finnish Premier Division.
On his return, Boden signed permanently for Chesterfield and played over 100 times for the Spirerites, mixed in with further loan spells at both Macclesfield Town and Alfreton Town.
He enjoyed a couple of notable success at the B2Net Stadium, firstly helping them to the League Two title in 2011 and then following season lifting the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy after being Swindon Town at Wembley.
Five years and 100-plus appearances after initially moving to Derbyshire, he left for Macclesfield on a permanent basis, agreeing a one-year contract with the Silkmen.
Following a successful season which saw the striker hit 18 goals for Macclesfield in the Conference (National League) Premier, he was signed by FC Halifax Town in the summer of 2014.
A year later and his continued success in front of goal encouraged League Two side Newport to offer him on a one-year contract.
Having scored the goal that earned the Gwent club an Emirates FA Cup Third Round place for the first time 30 years, he was offered a new contract by Newport but took up the option to move on to Inverness Caledonian Thistle on an extended contract.
Although he started the season well, the club were soon struggling at the foot of the SPL and as the season progressed couldn't avoid the drop.
With a new manager being appointed, there has been a shake-up in personnel and a raft of new players arriving at the Caledonian Stadium.
This led to Boden agreeing to end his deal early and heading south.
Back in Wales once more, he has signed an initial one-year contract with the Dragons, adding yet more experience to Dean Keates' squad.
