Pennock took over a club seemingly heading for the Vanarama National League North last month. Just two wins from their two managers and a team struggling to adapt left the Bluebirds with a big problem to solve.
Three weeks on, the new manager bounce has certainly kicked in.
Since his arrival at Holker Street, things haven’t just picked up - they have found promotion form!
Three wins from his four games at the helm included back to back away victories at Eastleigh, on Saturday, and Tuesday night’s triumph at a very much in-form Gateshead. Watch Highlights Here.
Pennock told the North West News & Mail that his good start is exactly that - a start.
Barrow play Bromley on Saturday and he said: “It will be a very tough game for us, but we are full of confidence at the moment.
“We're not OTT on the confidence side, but we are focused and there is a lot of confidence in the squad.
“We'll give them a game, that's for sure,” he said. “With the bit of extra quality we are showing now, and with the boys more confident, wanting the ball, and being confident on the ball, we'll definitely give them a game.
“They are a tough side, a very tough side, and the manager Neil Smith has done very well at Bromley. They'll be coming here and they'll be a tough side to crack, with some good players.
“Going forward, they're dangerous, and defensively they're very strong as well.”
