New Boss Sinnott Hopes Trinity Build On His First Win

Lee Sinnott was full of praise for his Gainsborough Trinity side after they picked up a vital victory over promotion hopefuls Kidderminster Harriers.

Sinnott tasted victory for the first time as Trinity boss in only his second game in charge thanks to Nicky Walker’s last-minute strike.

Trinity may remain second-bottom of the National League North but Sinnott, the ex-Altrincham chief, has seen vast improvements in the few weeks he’s been at the club.

“I thought the players were very, very gritty today against a nice footballing team in Kidderminster,” Sinnott told the club’s YouTube channel.

“To score so late on, you can’t ask for much more than that. Since we’ve walked through the door, the players have shown plenty of guts and character.

“We’ve looked steady and that’s a great base to build from. We’ll still be in the same position in the table but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.

“We look more compact now and today is another little building block. The way this League works, the picture can change very quickly in seven to ten days.”
