National League's Finest Join FA Cup Party On Thursday

By Sam Elliott

The FA Cup draw takes place on Thursday - and there are plenty of National League North and South clubs already doing us proud.

The National League's 23 join the party tomorrow as the Fourth Qualifying Round comes into focus.

Games are coming thick and fast, and the next round will take place on Saturday October 24.

The draw will take place at 1pm and it is live on TalkSPORT2.

On Tuesday night, the journey continued - it goes without saying there were upsets along the way.

A meeting of two National League North heavyweights went the way of Chester, who were too strong for Spennymoor. Jamie Morgan, Danny Elliott and George Waring turned the game on its head.

Nobody will want to draw out Oxford City - they thumped Tamworth 6-1.

York City are out - Chorley put in a fantastic display to end their interest in the competition.

Bath City got the better of Slough Town to take their place in the draw. Freddie Hinds’ delicate chip shortly after half-time was enough to separate the sides.

Hampton needed a wonder goal by Christian Smith and penalty kicks to get past AFC Hornchurch.

Guiseley were too good for Matlock, Chippenham Town edged out Ebbsfleet, Tonbridge and Concord Rangers are also in the hat while Darlington destroyed Tadcaster - 6-1 it finished.

St Albans City are through - just. They beat Mickleover 4-3 on penalties with the scores level at 1-1. So are AFC Fylde, who beat Farsley Celtic 3-1.

In the live BBC broadcast, Dulwich Hamlet needed penalty kicks to keep Christchurch at bay.

South Shields stunned Southport, Liam Watson's team out 4-2 on penalties and Maidstone United went the same way - Wimborne Town were spot on to stun the Stones.

AFC Telford's long trip to Leiston was a painful one - the Bucks bowed out on penalties.

Hereford were humbled, by lower level opposition too. Josh Gowling's team had a day to forget, Stafford Rangers causing their undoing - 3-1 it finished.

Maldon & Tipree are up to their old tricks - they stunned Braintree.

The minnows are still going strong in the competition.

Sholing and smelling blood, Cray Wanderers are gunning for glory as are Haringey Borough - who beat Bracknell 5-1 on Tuesday.

Cray Valley Paper Mills fancy another shot at Wembley with Hartley Wintney also winning through in midweek.
