National League's February Monthly Award Winners Announced!

By Sam Elliott

It’s time to reveal February’s big Vanarama National League winners as we proudly honour those who really shone last month.

Once again the panel’s decision to select the latest award winners was demanding - and a number of people can count themselves really unlucky.

It again took days of discussion before we finally got to place trophies in hands - so let’s meet the men who came out on top.

You’ve not been able to turn on the TV or radio without hearing about Boreham Wood’s achievements lately.

After all, their game at Everton on Thursday was earned after they became just the tenth Non-League club to reach the FA Cup fifth round in the post-war era.

But it’s not just the Cup that manager Luke Garrard has guided his team in with real personality.

The Manager of the Month started February with a headline grabbing win at AFC Bournemouth, and they didn’t take their eye off the National League ball.

They beat Altrincham and then Eastleigh, grabbing a solid 0-0 draw at Torquay United on their long Tuesday trip too.

It was a month the staff, players and supporters will never forget!

Elisha Sam has also enjoyed a period where he felt invincible.

The Notts County attacker came into his own in February. He joined County last summer from Bulgarian side Arda Kardzhali and has taken a while to acclimatise himself to English football.

But now given a run of games in the past month, he seized his opportunity scoring four goals, two against Barnet, an important leveller at FC Halifax and also one at Woking.

The Belgian is making his voice heard in an attack that often grabs headlines with the likes of Kyle Wootton, Cal Roberts and Ruben Rodrigues.

As you know, we can’t get enough of the Vanarama Volunteer of the Month award.

Thanks to the competition’s sponsors, it allows us the chance to offer vital recognition to those who give up their time to make their club a better place.

King’s Lynn Town say Norman Cesar’s commitment to their cause is so great that they’ve yet to be able to locate his off-switch!

The die-hard fan has been involved at the club volunteering for more than 20 years now - and that’s enough to make sure he gets recognition in our book.

He’s gone from sourcing ball kids to covering the role of club secretary.

Non-stop Norman has also acted as kit man and there’s not a person at the Walks he doesn’t know, and who doesn’t know him!

When not busy looking after the first team players, he can also be found in the office dealing with the admin issues for the club’s Ladies and Under-19 teams.

Lynn say he is an incredibly valuable member of the team and the go-to person for everyone at the club.

Congratulations to all our fantastic winners!
