National League's April Monthly Award Winners Revealed!

By Sam Elliott

We all knew April would be a crucial time in the promotion race - but who has done the business at the business end of the season?

It’s time to reward those who have stood out at a time when the men really are separated from the boys.

Gary Johnson deals in promotion - he already has two winners medals from this division, after all.

Torquay United’s manager has not only guided his team through a worrying injury situation, but a crisis of confidence too.

March wasn’t a month to remember, but April was certainly one to write home about.

The Gulls started the month by beating old foes Woking, before Wrexham were put to the sword.

Then came a win against Weymouth, followed by a critical three points at title rivals Sutton United.

Torquay then beat Woking again before a late late show rescued a point against Notts County - and then a 98th minute winner over Aldershot.

He is your Manager of the Month, but the players’ award comes from Hartlepool United.

The club had a wonderful month - and Gavan Holohan, 29, was central to it.

The Irish midfielder got April underway with the winner at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

He scored again in the brave draw at Boreham Wood before doing the same in the 2-0 success against Notts County, live on BT Sport.

He let his team-mates take the goals glory in the 7-2 thumping of Wealdstone but his work was done in a tremendous four weeks.

For Paul Cobb, Solihull Moors is not just a football club. And Solihull Moors is not just about the club’s first team, either.

He has been instrumental in getting the area’s over 45s football off the ground and hundreds of locals in Birmingham are indebted to him for his efforts.

He even helped raise over £1,000 for a player who was struck down with cancer.

Paul is also an avid charity donator, and volunteer at the Solihull Moors Foundation.

Like everyone else, he can’t wait to get back on the terraces supporting his side in every way he can.

Well done to our three fantastic winners!
