National League South: Complete Weekend Preview

By Tom Scott

With the top two away in FA Trophy action four sides are eyeing top spot in the South - not that it means anything at this stage!

With leaders Worthing and second-placed Boreham Wood away, there's ground to be made up with the rest of the promotion chasers.

Dorking Wanderers are one of the contenders - they face a Slough Town side who haven't registered a league win since way back in November.

Maidstone and Torquay face off at the Gallagher Stadium - both could end the day top of the tree with a win if results elsewhere go their way.

Eastbourne Borough host a Tonbridge Angels side with promotion aspirations of their own.

Adam Murray's side are the last of the 'could-be-top' group while the Angels know their first away win since the end of November could see them close the gap on the top seven.

Weston-super-Mare host in-form Hemel. The Tudors have won their last three games and will look to capitalise on their hosts' miserable home form of late.

Truro were the latest side to be defeated by Hemel - they host Bath City who will be desperate not to be dragged into a fight for survival.

Only Boreham Wood have beaten Hampton & Richmond in the league since the back end of November - a trip to struggling St Albans awaits them.

Elsewhere, Chippenham host Aveley while Farnborough travel to Enfield Town.

Hornchurch - winless in six games - host Salisbury who are on an unbeaten run of six league games.

Weymouth are the only side with a worse record than Hornchurch of late - the Terras welcome Welling United to their place.

Chesham United know they might be in with an outside shot of the playoffs despite an 11-point gap between them and Truro. A win over Chelmsford tomorrow could make their games in hand crucial.
