National League South: Complete Weekend Preview

Leaders Hemel Hempstead were probably happy for the break. They got to lick their wounds after a challenging few weeks but it’s not about to get any easier.

They face the long trip to Truro City, who sit just five points behind them and know they’ll boost their promotion hand by shooting down the table toppers.

Eastbourne Borough are second and themselves face a difficult away day. The Sports are at Chelmsford City who have won their last three league games.

Few would have expected Tonbridge Angels to be third and Jay Saunders’ side welcome Slough Town, who a month ago were flying themselves.

Weston-super-Mare are seven unbeaten in the National League South but Welling United need to end their slump.

Two sides tipped for a challenge but have so far not hit the heights collide - will Maidstone United or Worthing push themselves up the table?

Can St Albans City get their first win? They take on Salisbury while strugglers Weymouth and Enfield Town meet. Farnborough take on Aveley both on the hunt for a winning start to October.

One side who did take to the field last weekend were Hampton & RB and they made light work of the Towners. The Beavers now host Torquay United who need to put a tough few weeks to bed.

Dorking Wanderers also have to get things together. They host Hornchurch while Boreham Wood travel to Chippenham Town.

Chesham United are thrilled with their start but will be really tested by a Bath City side buoyed by a great FA Cup weekend.
