National League South: Complete Weekend Preview

By Sam Elliott

There’s only one side left with a perfect record after three matches - and they are going to need another super showing for things to remain that way.

Farnborough’s quest for four from four in the National League South heads to Welling United, who are pretty handy on home turf under Rod Stringer.

Despite wins over Chippenham Town, Torquay United and Eastbourne Borough, Spencer Day’s team aren’t talking up their chances just yet.

Sitting in second place are Hemel Hempstead Town with Bobby Wilkinson’s boys knowing a home game with Worthing offers the Tudors a chance to get more points on the board.

After early good starters Boreham Wood and Dorking drew 2-2 on Tuesday, they’re both back in action. Wood welcome Weymouth, who have yet to get off the mark.

Dorking are involved in the game of the weekend as they travel to Torquay, who have won two of their three matches so far.

Try keeping Slough Town silent! They struck six times in midweek and want to keep the goals coming at home to Hornchurch. Elsewhere Eastbourne Borough meet Aveley while Tonbridge Angels want to add to their good start by bettering Bath City.

Truro City hope to avoid an Enfield Town response when the Londoners travel to Cornwall after shipping six against Slough.

Maidstone United manager George Elokobi moved to clear up his post match comments after the Stones failed to beat Hampton & RB on Tuesday. He says fans can express their feelings how they want - but the mood will improve if they can beat Chippenham.

Hampton & RB haven’t won yet but their tails are up. Alan Julian wants his side to show Salisbury why he thinks that first victory is getting closer and closer.

Chelmsford City are also yet to get a win and won’t have it all their own way at Weston-super-Mare.

It’s far too early to panic but St Albans City and Chesham United are in the bottom four but one win can kick-start their season and they play each other at Clarence Park.
