National League South: Complete Tuesday Preview

By Sam Elliott

There’s plenty of National League South action to keep your eye on this evening as the season starts to take shape.

New leaders Eastbourne Borough are planning to stretch their legs at the top but Welling United head to the south coast with some making up to do to their fans.

Manager Rod Stringer was not a happy man after a 4-0 home humbling by Chippenham Town and wants his team to come up with a response.

Truro City were one late goal away from leading the way at the weekend but try again tonight against the side who were so good at Park View Road on Saturday.

Weston-super-Mare return to league action after their FA Cup adventure ended at Bristol Rovers and want first position back. Weymouth arrive after a morale boosting win at Aveley, who could do without a demanding trip to Worthing.

Torquay United are still in touch with the teams at the top but Salisbury don’t lose many at home.

Dorking Wanderers are back in form after four wins from their last six while opponents Maidstone United have taken 11 points from a possible 15.

Hemel Hempstead Town are bottom of the form guide but Bobby Wilkinson knows one good result can change everything. Will they get it at Hornchurch, who are four unbeaten and settling into the division nicely.

Slough Town manager Scott Davies says the division has never been harder and it’s Bath City next to test the Rebels. Chelmsford City are one of the high quality sides he spoke about, and the title hunters travel to St Albans City.
